Bank reconciliation

Confirm that your books match the bank statement, month after month, with difference handling and drafts.

The bank reconciliation compares the book balance with the bank statement balance at a given date. It is the control that guarantees nothing is missing and nothing is doubled.

  1. 1Open Bank reconciliation, pick the account and enter the end date and the statement balance.
  2. 2Check off the transactions that appear on the statement: the displayed difference shrinks as you go.
  3. 3A leftover difference? You can record an adjusting entry to clear it (forgotten bank fees, for example).
  4. 4When the difference reaches zero, finish the reconciliation: the period is locked and archived.
  • A reconciliation can be left as a draft and resumed later.
  • The Reconciliation history keeps every finished period; if needed, a reconciliation can be undone for correction.

Reconcile every month: a difference caught within a month is fixed in minutes, a difference accumulated over a year takes hours to find.
