The notes to the financial statements (CSRS 4200)

Automatic notes, note templates, references on balance sheet lines and capital asset schedules: numbering takes care of itself.

  • Notes 1 and 2 (status of the company and significant accounting policies) are generated automatically and always present.
  • The following notes (3, 4, 5...) are the ones you add: loans, due to directors, commitments, contingencies, and so on.
  • Some notes compute themselves: the capital asset schedule (cost, accumulated amortization, net value) and the intangibles schedule are built from the accounts involved.

Add a note and its reference

  1. 1In Financial statements, open the notes section.
  2. 2Pick a note template (or start from a blank note) and adapt the text.
  3. 3Link the note to a balance sheet line: the (note N) reference appears on that line.

Numbering always stays consecutive: delete note 4 and the following notes are renumbered automatically, with the balance sheet references following along. You never renumber by hand.

Custom notes and references require the Pro plan or higher. The Free plan produces statements without notes.
